How to Turn Your Happiness Into Joy

Welcome Baby Girl!

This past week has been one for the records in our family.  We got to enjoy our darling grandsons for a few days, while our daughter and her husband welcomed our precious new grand-daughter into the world.  And then, the day after we returned our babies to be with their parents and new baby sis, my husband and I helped move our own baby, (18yr old son, Casey) to his new apartment for his first year of college.

Whew!  It’s been a lot to process.

So much to be happy about, and because I’m me, -I like to milk every last drop out of special events by turning my happiness into joy.

Happiness is a primary emotion that is typically triggered by a positive thought about something that happens.

The way we turn it into joy is by layering more positive thoughts on top.

This is what it looked like for me:

“Camrie had her baby!”

So happy.

And then,

“I’m so grateful she and the baby are both healthy and well.”

“I’m so excited to meet this precious baby girl who has ended our 30 year drought of no pink!”

“I feel so blessed to be able to enjoy our grandsons and help Cam and John out.”

“It feels incredible to love these darling little boys who call me grandma, and enjoy their hugs and kisses.”

“I’m so thankful to be able to manage my schedule in a way that made it all possible.”

“It’s such a miracle that my husband and I have been able to create this beautiful life together.”

Or this:

“Casey gets to start his new adventure in becoming an independent adult.”

So happy.

And then,

“It has been such an incredible gift to have him in our home these past 18 years.”

“I’m so proud of this exceptional young man who is such an amazing human being!”

“I’m so grateful to my Heavenly Father for the gift of being a mother and having a family.”

“I’m so thankful for the pain I feel as he leaves home, its sharpness is an indication of just how much I love him.”

You can make your happiness last longer or deepen it to a state of joy, by adding gratitude.

Deepen it even further by adding beautiful music.

Music holds a vibration that speaks to our souls.

When we combine positive thoughts with beautiful music, it increases the level of our own vibration to an exquisite, soul expanding experience.
